Injectable neurotoxins relax dynamic wrinkles that are formed when you make expressions. Neurotoxins work by disrupting the chemical message sent by nerves to muscles. This prevents muscle contraction. By injecting specific muscles with neurotoxin, you can prevent or soften existing wrinkles that occur due to repeated contractions of muscles. Some common areas in which neurotoxins are used are the forehead, around the eyes for “crows feet”, and around the mouth. There is no downtime after injection of neurotoxin but patients may experience bruising around injection sites. Results usually last 3 months.
Soft tissue fillers can be used for existing lines or to add volume. During the normal process of aging, skin contours change and certain areas lose volume that is associated with a youthful appearance. Fillers provide an effective, non surgical alternative for correction of the contour defects of the face. Dermal fillers are safe and effective and provide immediate results. We offer multiple fillers that serve a variety of purposes including Bellafill, Radiesse, Juvederm XC, Juvederm Voluma and Belotero. Common areas in which fillers are used are the lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds, chin and under the eyes. Post injection, patients may have swelling and/or bruising that lasts up to a week, but there is no downtime. Ice packs applied to the area immediately following injections and for the first few hours after may reduce both swelling and bruising. Duration of results depend upon the filler used. During your consultation, ask your injector about the filler that will be used for your treatment.
PRP can be injected under the skin to stimulate tissue growth and support for saggy or aging skin. Since PRP is a component of your own blood there is nothing ‘foreign’ being put in your body. There is no risk of rejection. All tissues and areas can benefit from PRP. The results of PRP injections are not evident immediately. Over time as collagen increases, you will notice gradual changes. As with soft tissue fillers, there may be swelling and/or bruising after injections but ice may decrease the severity. PRP injections are administered in a series of three series of injections occuring 4-6 weeks apart. Results are more apparent after the second set of injections but skin will continue to improve up to six months after the last injection.
